PUSA: The Beladin Countdown 2026 celebration marked a meaningful start to the new year for residents of Beladin, with the programme serving as a platform to strengthen community unity while setting renewed aspirations for progress and development in the Beting Maro area.

The event was officiated by Beting Maro Assemblyman, Dato Razaili Gapor, who emphasised the importance of beginning 2026 with positive intentions and a more structured approach to life compared to the previous year.

Speaking at the celebration held at Dataran Temenggung Kadir, he noted that the people of Sarawak, particularly those in rural areas, have gone through various phases and challenges in their ongoing efforts to uphold Sarawak’s rights and advance local development.

He stressed that unity must remain the foundation of progress, urging the community to preserve harmony and solidarity among Sarawakians regardless of race or religion.

“A good beginning must lead to the best outcomes,” he said, highlighting the need for collective commitment in shaping a better future.

Dato Razaili also expressed appreciation to the Sarawak Government for continuously providing infrastructure and facilities in rural areas, which have contributed to tangible development achievements in Beting Maro.

According to him, 2026 is expected to see further progress, reflecting the outcomes of long-standing efforts to ensure balanced development reaches communities at the grassroots level.

He added that the celebration was held in a spirit of gratitude, with hopes that 2026 would bring greater opportunities and improvements compared to the previous year.

Looking ahead, several new projects have been planned to upgrade Dataran Temenggung Kadir, positioning it as a more vibrant public space suitable for community programmes and activities.

“InshaAllah, Dataran Temenggung Kadir will undergo a transformation and become a leisure spot that attracts visitors to Kampung Beladin, Pusa,” he said.

He also encouraged local entrepreneurs to seize the opportunities provided by the area, noting that such initiatives would benefit the community when there is continued support for the Sarawak Government under the leadership of the Premier.

The Beladin Countdown 2026 was jointly organised by the Beting Maro Service Centre, Kampung Beladin hawkers and the Kampung Beladin Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), and attended by community leaders and residents from the surrounding areas. -UKASnews
