RGC Gedong Football Field Upgraded Via RM1.5 Million Allocation
GEDONG: The dream of youth and sports enthusiasts in Gedong District to have a modern football field facility has now become a reality.
The Gedong District Council, represented by its Secretary Farrah Sofya Sharbini, officially handed over the project to upgrade the RGC Gedong Football Field to the contractor in a brief ceremony on Thursday.
The handover ceremony of the project was witnessed by Sarawak Premier and Gedong Assemblyman, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
Meanwhile, Special Representative of the Gedong Assemblyman, Dato Sri Naroden Majais, stressed that this project is one of the Sarawak Government's efforts to provide quality sports facilities to support the development of young talents in the area.
The RM1.5 million project was fully funded through a special allocation from Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari.
The main focus of the project is the installation of artificial turf to ensure the field is more comfortable, safe and able to accommodate competitive sports activities.
This provision is very meaningful and appreciated by the local community because it provides more comfortable, safe and quality sports facilities, especially for the youth.
This initiative indirectly promotes a healthy lifestyle, strengthens community activities and opens up space for local young talents to continue to grow and shine.
With this noble effort, it can provide lasting benefits by producing a generation of active, disciplined and competitive youth, thus strengthening community unity in the Gedong District.
