Datuk Abdullah Saidol Receives Courtesy Visit From AKM Sarawak Director
KUCHING: Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol, received a courtesy visit from the Malaysian National Academy (AKM) led by its Director, Mohamad Faizal Lamat, at the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Headquarters here on Friday.
The visit aimed to introduce the role and function of the academy as a centre for developing leadership capacity and strengthening national values in the public service.
Datuk Abdullah welcomed the initiative and expressed support for efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Sarawak Government and the Prime Minister's Office through AKM in line with the aspiration to improve professionalism and strategic communication capabilities of the public service.
During the session, the AKM also took the opportunity to explain the implementation of various training and competency development programmes, including courses on leadership, governance, strategic communication and strengthening patriotism values targeted at civil servants at the Federal and Sarawak levels.
Both parties also exchanged views on proposed strategic cooperation in conjunction with the celebration of Heroes' Day, particularly in terms of the content of nationalistic programmes, public communication and the involvement of civil servants to foster the spirit of patriotism.
