Canopy & Porch Of Kapit ATM Veteran House Inaugurated, Veteran Welfare Continues To Be Empowered
KAPIT: The welfare and comfort of Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) veterans in the Kapit Division continue to be strengthened following the inauguration of the canopy and porch at the Kapit Branch ATM Veteran House on Saturday.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Law and Native Customs), Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, expressed his appreciation to the Kapit Branch of the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVATM) for the successful completion of the facility's improvement project.
He stated that the construction of the canopy and porch not only enhances the comfort of the veteran members but also transforms the Veteran House into a more conducive center for gatherings and welfare activities.
"The Sarawak Government is always committed to supporting veteran welfare through various initiatives, including facility assistance and the provision of grants to PVATM Kapit," he said.
He also emphasised the significant service and sacrifices made by ATM veterans in defending the country's security and sovereignty, as well as their role in fostering patriotism and community unity.
Also in attendance were the Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Watson Awan Jalai; Kapit Division Resident, Elvis Didit; Kapit District Officer, Thomas Geoffrey Kendawang; members of the Kapit Branch Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association; and other distinguished guests. - UKASnews
