Political Stability Builds Confidence Of Investors & People
SIBU: Sarawak's success today is based on effective governance and wise resource management to ensure the well-being of the people is maintained.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian said the administration approach that prioritises the interests of the people, in addition to political stability and unity between the government's component parties, has made Sarawak an example for other states in Malaysia.
According to him, Sarawak is now respected not only because of its wealth of resources, but also because of the state government's ability to implement policies and development consistently and effectively.
"Sarawak is respected not because we are rich, but because what we do is an example for other states in Malaysia. Many parties come to Sarawak to learn from our experience and approach," he said.
He said this when opening the new office of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Dudong Branch, here, on Sunday.
The SUPP President further stressed that political stability and close cooperation between the Sarawak Government's component parties, namely SUPP, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Demokratif Demokrasif (PDP) and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) form the foundation for the implementation of rapid and more inclusive development.
"Political stability allows the government to plan and implement development policies with more confidence, thus increasing investor and people's confidence in the direction of Sarawak," he explained.
Meanwhile, SUPP Dudong Branch Chairman Wong Ching Yong expressed confidence that SUPP together with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) have the potential to seize the Lanang Parliamentary seat in the upcoming election based on increased voter support.
According to him, SUPP-GPS only needs an additional 10 per cent of voter support to ensure victory in the seat.
"When compared to the 2018 General Election, support for SUPP-GPS in the 2022 GE shows a clear increase. Although DAP won the seat, their percentage of support actually shows a decrease," he said.
The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, Meradong Assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, Pujut Assemblyman Adam Yii Siew Sang, Bukit Assek Assemblyman Chieng Jin Ek, SUPP Organising Secretary Datuk Matthew Chen Thin Kong, SUPP Youth Chief Councillor Kevin Lau Kor Jie as well as approximately 300 other invited guests. -UKASnews
