Lawas Administrative Office Complex To Begin Operating This March
LAWAS: The Lawas Administrative Office Complex (AOC) is expected to be occupied by government departments in the Lawas district by February this year, thus opening a new chapter in strengthening the public service delivery system in northern Sarawak.
Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, said that administrative operations at the complex are scheduled to begin in full in March, thus enabling the people's dealings with government agencies to be carried out in a more organised, modern and conducive environment.
"The construction of the Lawas AOC is not just about providing physical infrastructure, but is also a strategic investment by the state government in improving administrative efficiency, speeding up service delivery and bridging the gap in access to government facilities for the local community," he said.
He said this when met by reporters during a visit on Sunday.
He added that this project also reflects the Sarawak Government's commitment in ensuring balanced development throughout the region, including border areas, in line with the aspiration to strengthen governance and the well-being of the people.
The Lawas AOC is expected to be a catalyst for local socio-economic growth, in addition to enhancing the image of a more professional and people-friendly public service.
