Sarawak’s Political Stability A Catalyst For Continuous Development
LIMBANG: The political stability maintained under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) administration remains the bedrock of the state’s consistent development, ensuring that policies are implemented in an orderly and effective manner for the well-being of the rakyat.
Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, noted that Sarawak has enjoyed sustainable growth for over two decades.
He attributed this progress to the far-sighted leadership of GPS, which has remained a constant even during periods of political uncertainty at the Federal level.
"Although the Federal government has seen frequent changes, GPS remains stable under the leadership of the Sarawak Premier. Consequently, Sarawak is regarded as one of the most progressive states in the nation," he said .
Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman made these remarks during the Bukit Kota Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sports Dinner on Saturday.
The Deputy Minister further highlighted that the Premier’s leadership consistently prioritises public welfare, specifically through initiatives aimed at gradually increasing household income levels.
He emphasised that the state government operates with a clear vision and a robust development plan, which has seen Sarawak’s revenue hit record highs—reaching RM13.3 billion in 2023 and continuing its upward trajectory.
“The Sarawak government has a clear mission and a solid development plan. Therefore, unwavering support must be given to the candidates selected by the GPS top leadership,” he added.
Addressing recent speculation regarding the upcoming election, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman stressed that PBB and GPS are in a state of constant readiness and will abide by any directive issued by the party’s high command.
He noted that while the timing of the election is a subject of intense debate, the party remains disciplined and prepared to follow the Premier's lead.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the PBB Bukit Kota branch has mobilised its machinery and remains committed to the GPS agenda to ensure Sarawak’s progress is maintained. He also took the opportunity to praise the branch for fostering unity through sports activities involving the Veterans, Women, and Youth wings.
The event was attended by Bukit Kota Branch Vice Head and PBB Youth Wing Chief, Sufian Mohat; PBB Women Wing Chief, Niti Rosli; Sports Organising Deputy Chairman, Fedrick Lalung Ngilo; and representative of the Youth Wing, Racheal Ramon.-UKASnews
