PBB Women’s Wing Strengthen Unity, Support Sarawak Development Agenda
KUCHING: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women's Wing Supreme Council Meeting held on Friday at the Conference Room, PBB Headquarters, here, was an important forum to strengthen the role of women in the Sarawak political landscape and express strong support for the leadership of the Sarawak Government.
The meeting, chaired by PBB Women Chief, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, also discussed the development of PBB Women Wing’s membership which continues to show encouraging growth every year.
According to her, as of February 5, 2026, PBB Women Wing membership recorded 181,850 people, with an increase of more than 1,000 members compared to the previous year, thus proving that women's support for the party is becoming stronger and more significant.
She said the continuous increase in PBB Women Wing membership proved that the voice and role of women are increasingly important, in addition to having their own strength, wisdom and instincts in leadership.
Commenting on the possibility of adding more Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats in the future, PBB Women Wing Vice-Chief, Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, stressed that PBB Women Wing is always ready and supports any party decision that is made wisely for the benefit of Sarawak as a whole.
Meanwhile, she also expressed full confidence in the wisdom of the Sarawak Premier's leadership in managing state affairs including Sarawak's rights claims under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
"Under the leadership of the Sarawak Premier, we have witnessed many successes including an increase in state funds as a result of the struggle to defend Sarawak's rights. This proves that the Sarawak Government's strategy and approach are accurate and effective," said Dato Sri Fatimah.
She also stressed that any negative narrative or attempt to divide relations between the states will only further strengthen the unity of the people of Sarawak.
"We do not want the Premier to walk alone. We move as a team. Any attack or negative narrative will only make us more united for Sarawak," added Dato Sri Fatimah.
In this regard, she called on all branches and branches of PBB Women Wing to continue to be prepared, united and disciplined in carrying out the party's mandate to ensure a big victory for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the upcoming State Election. — UKASnews
