CNY Greeting Card Distribution Tradition Strengthens Relations Between Leaders & People In Sarikei
SARIKEI: The tradition of distributing greeting cards in conjunction with Chinese New Year in the Sarikei Parliamentary constituency continues to serve as an important platform in strengthening relations between leaders and people in the area.
Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii said that the practice has been implemented consistently since he was elected as a representative of the people as a sign of remembrance and appreciation to the local community.
According to him, the initiative is not just an annual routine, but rather reflects an ongoing commitment to maintaining harmony and strengthening ties between leaders and the local community.
“This is also part of my efforts to reconcile and strengthen relations with the people in addition to enlivening the Chinese New Year celebration,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Sarikei also stressed that celebrations such as Chinese New Year are not only celebrated by the Chinese community, but also serve as a platform to foster unity among people of all races.
In this regard, he expressed hope that the spirit of goodwill and mutual respect that has been long established can continue to be strengthened for the sake of common prosperity.
The distribution of greeting cards was carried out by Dato’ Sri Huang’s representatives on Wednesday, who also took the opportunity to extend Happy Chinese New Year greetings to the entire Chinese community in Sarikei. -UKASnews
