116 Traders Begin Selling At Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Ramadan Bazaar
SIBU: A total of 116 traders at the Ramadan Bazaar in Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang began operations on Wednesday, a day before Muslims in the town welcome the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.
Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi, was present to officiate the bazaar on behalf of the Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee.
He also presented aprons to all participating traders.
Speaking to reporters, Sayed Azmee stressed that cleanliness must be given serious attention by all traders throughout the operating period, particularly in the preparation of food and beverages, to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers at all times.
“We will work closely with the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to monitor hygiene standards and ensure full compliance with all regulations by traders during the course of the bazaar,” he said.
He further noted that this year’s Ramadan bazaar has been enhanced with the introduction of a cashless payment system via QR codes, as well as a stall lighting competition to add to the festive atmosphere.
In addition, the organising committee has provided a dedicated QR code at the bazaar site to enable visitors to submit complaints or feedback directly.
“The committee will take immediate action and liaise directly with the Ministry of Health if the matter concerns hygiene issues or requires further attention,” he emphasised. -UKASnews
