Stutong Ramadan Bazaar Becomes Platform For Unity & People's Economy
KUCHING: The Ramadan Bazaar continues to be a platform for community unity and a catalyst for the economy of small traders.
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr. Hazland Hipni said the bazaar is not only the focus of the Malay community, but also attracts visitors from various races, thus reflecting the harmony and spirit of unity of the local community.
According to him, the organisation of the Ramadan bazaar every year also plays an important role in boosting the local economy, especially in helping small traders and micro entrepreneurs generate income during the month of Ramadan.
"The Ramadan bazaar is not just an annual tradition, but also an important platform that provides opportunities for small traders to increase their income, in addition to enlivening the social atmosphere of the community," he said when officiating the Stutong Ramadan Bazaar here on Thursday.
According to Datuk Dr. Hazland, the Stutong Ramadan Bazaar is among the best bazaars in Kuching in terms of management, variety of food, reasonable prices and high levels of cleanliness.
He said that the practice of maintaining the cleanliness of the stalls, using clean equipment and handling safe food is a shared responsibility to ensure the comfort and well-being of the public.
Also present were Kuching South Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, Kuching South Deputy Mayor Dato Zaiedi Suhaili, Chairman of the 2026 Ramadan Bazaar Organising Committee Othman Bujang and Acting City Secretary Zuraida Idris. - UKASnews
