Mayor Visits Residents Of Mental Health Association, Spreads Festive Cheer
KUCHING: Kuching South City Mayor, Dato Wee Hong Seng, visited residents of the Mental Health Association of Sarawak, Kuching Branch Halfway Home on Thursday morning to share a meaningful festive session and extend warm wishes to the community.
During the visit, Dato Wee spent time interacting with residents in a warm and uplifting atmosphere. As part of the celebration, he presented angpao to the residents and joined them for lunch.
He emphasised that festive occasions should be moments of togetherness and joy for everyone, and that no one should be left behind during the festive season.
Dato Wee, who has served as an advisor to the Association for 27 years, said the visit symbolises his continued commitment to supporting mental health advocacy and community care.
He noted that genuine engagement and social inclusion are essential in fostering confidence, dignity, and emotional well-being among residents.
He also recorded his sincere appreciation to the Committee of the Mental Health Association of Sarawak, Kuching Branch, as well as the dedicated staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the well-being, rehabilitation, and social integration of the residents.
Their commitment and compassion, he said, play a vital role in creating a safe, caring and supportive environment for those under their care.
