Sarawak Delegation Pays Courtesy Visit To Secretary General For Ministry Of Education Malaysia
PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel led a Sarawak delegation on a courtesy visit to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education Malaysia, Dato Dr. Aminuddin Hassim.
The main objective was to discuss matters arising from the previous meeting of the Technical Committee under the Action Council for the Implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MTPMA63), particularly on Sarawak’s education autonomy, with specific reference to the implementation of the Dual Language Programme (DLP) in Sarawak.
The visit reflects the continued commitment of both Sarawak and Federal Governments in advancing educational development in the state.
The discussions focused on aligning Sarawak’s aspirations for education with the existing national education framework.
Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah also emphasised that enhancing students’ English proficiency is crucial in preparing them to meet future technological demands.
The Sarawak Government remains committed to work closely with Federal Government to ensure that educational policies implemented in Sarawak benefit students, strengthen institutional capacity, and support long-term socio-economic development.
