TEBEDU: Serian Member of Parliament Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem visited and extended his support to victims of a fire incident in Kampung Entubuh that occurred on Wednesday evening.
Three houses were reported to have been affected in the incident, with one completely destroyed while two others sustained damage, but no casualties were reported.
During the visit, he conveyed his sympathy to the affected families and commended the courage and swift cooperation of villagers who acted quickly to contain the blaze before the arrival of the Fire and Rescue Department.
He said the residents’ immediate response reflected a strong sense of unity and communal responsibility.
“I commend the bravery and cooperation shown by the residents of Kampung Entubuh, who acted promptly to help put out the fire before firefighters arrived. Such spirit should serve as an example,” he added.
Dato Sri Richard Riot also advised the three affected heads of household to remain resilient and patient in facing the ordeal.
Meanwhile, he presented fire relief assistance to the victims, along with food aid contributed by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) to help ease their burden.
