APGH 2026 To Showcase Sarawak’s Resilient Hydrogen Ecosystem
KUALA LUMPUR: The organisation of the Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition (APGH) 2026 signals a major pivot in Sarawak’s green energy strategy in moving from theoretical potential to concrete project delivery.
This was highlighted during its Industry Engagement Day and first press conference at Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
The session was officiated by Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, who led a townhall titled “Sarawak’s Clean Hydrogen Journey: Addressing Challenges, Enabling Investments, Building the Value Chain.”
“Green hydrogen is no longer being viewed as a standalone experiment, but as a critical component of Sarawak's broader low-carbon framework. This theme reflects a clear shift in direction — from talking about potential to delivering projects, from ambition to execution, and from isolated initiatives to integrated low-carbon systems,” he said.
Scheduled for June 9–11, 2026, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), the event carries the theme: “Empowering the Future – Delivering a Resilient Hydrogen Ecosystem.”
APGH 2026 is hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak (MEESty), organised by Borneo Business Connect Sdn Bhd, and supported by Business Events Sarawak.
The state’s approach integrates hydrogen with hydropower, solar energy, and emerging carbon management solutions to ensure both emissions reduction and economic resilience.
The event is expected to attract over 90 speakers, 800 delegates, and 5,000 industry and trade visitors from 30 countries.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, APGH 2026 will feature an enhanced conference programme, expanded exhibition showcase, and curated networking platforms to catalyse investments and cross-border partnerships.
The conference aims to position Asia Pacific as a competitive and resilient green hydrogen hub, supporting Malaysia’s and Sarawak’s low-carbon aspirations. -UKASnews
