PEKEMA Shares Aidilfitri Joy, 100 Asnaf Children Receive Raya Clothing Vouchers Worth RM240
KUCHING: The Association of Malay Vehicle Importers and Traders of Malaysia (PEKEMA) shared the joy of the upcoming Aidilfitri by providing Raya clothing vouchers worth RM240 each to 100 asnaf children.
Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato Sri Nancy Shukri, stated that such programs not only provide aid to recipients but also give the children the opportunity to experience choosing their own Hari Raya necessities.
“This shopping approach is very meaningful because the children are not just receiving aid; they get to pick out their own clothes or Raya needs themselves.
“Small experiences like this certainly bring joy and cheer them up as they prepare to welcome the upcoming Syawal,” she said.
She said this while speaking at the ‘PEKEMA Sarawak Raya Shopping with Asnaf Children’ Program at a shopping mall here on Sunday. According to the Santubong Member of Parliament, some of the recipients were identified through cooperation with the Social Welfare Department to ensure that the aid reaches those truly in need.
It is understood that the second phase of this program will be held later, involving 150 more recipients from among asnaf children.
Also in attendance were PERKEMA Sarawak President Dato Ismail Abang Saufi, PEKEMA Malaysia Vice President Raja Petra Maruddin Raja Noordin, PEKEMA Sarawak Deputy President Dato Tapah Ata, PEKEMA Sarawak Vice President Ts Yusuf Roy Fitri Mohamad Jonny, PEKEMA Malaysia Honorary Secretary Ahmad Faresh Ahmad Zahid and Director of the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) Sarawak Jimbau Munggat. — UKASnews
