KUCHING: TPr Wan Sufian Wan Mustapha has been appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Ministry for Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR), taking over from Hairani Mohamad Ismail.

The handover ceremony between Hairani and TPr Wan Sufian was held at Wisma Sumber Alam and was also witnessed by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan on Monday.

Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah expressed his appreciation for the contributions and services that Hairani has rendered throughout her tenure at the ministry.

Hairani began working at MUDeNR on 14 January 2019 in the Urban Development Division before being placed in the Administration, Management and Finance Division as Head of Division.

Armed with extensive experience in administrative management and urban development, she was later appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary of the ministry on 3 July 2023 and continues to play an important role in supporting the implementation of state development policies and initiatives.

Hairani will continue to serve at the Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri (MMKN) as Executive Secretary starting 9 March 2026.

Earlier, the ceremony also witnessed the handover of duties between TPr Wan Sufian and TPr Sri Ratna Dewi Junaidi Sapawi as the new Head of the Urban and Country Planning Division.

Also present to witness the ceremony were the Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh, along with other dignitaries. -UKASnews
