Datuk Dr Hazland Speaks At Sustainability Week Asia 2026 Bangkok
BANGKOK: Sarawak Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni recently represented Malaysia at the Sustainability Week Asia 2026 Bangkok.
He spoke twice with the first session on 24 March at the Dinner Roundtable Dialogue on the topic ‘Nature and the Bottom Line: Risk, Resilience & Growth’, focusing on nature-based solutions and biodiversity conservation.
At the second session on 26 March, Datuk Dr Hazland also spoke at the Ministerial Interview with the topic ‘Resources to Resilience: Sarawak Leadership in Energy Transition and Environmental Sustainability’.
He shared Sarawak's regulatory, technical, financial and human resource enablers to capitalise on the natural resources and collaboration with potential technical partners and investors, especially in the current energy crisis which marks a turning point for the world to strategise on energy transition with less dependence on oil and gas.
Sustainability Week Asia 2026 Bangkok is one of the most prestigious conferences in the Asia-Pacific region focused on sustainability, climate policy, and the green economy.
The conference focuses on how Asia can accelerate its transition towards net-zero emissions and a low-carbon economy, targeting the attendance of some 1,000 leaders from industry, government, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) sectors. -UKASnews
