GKCDA Project Monitoring Strengthens Infrastructure Development In Bau
BAU: Initiatives to reinforce infrastructure development in the Bau district are being actively advanced through projects under regional development agencies, notably the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) which has a direct impact on the well-being of the residents.
The project monitoring visit conducted by the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) in Bau district on Tuesday placed emphasis on several major projects within the Tasik Biru and Serembu constituencies, as part of continuous efforts to ensure the effective implementation of development initiatives at the grassroots level.
Monitoring efforts had earlier extended to Tanjong Datu and Opar, forming part of a broader, coordinated push by the government to track project progress and pinpoint areas that call for improvement.
Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi stated that the visit placed emphasis on several strategic projects including the upgrading of Dewan Suarah Bau, the enhancement of St. Stephen’s Church as well as the construction and upgrading of the road linking Kampung Kopit to Segubang.
He noted that the projects are designed not only to upgrade public facilities and improve user comfort but also to keep pace with the area’s growing development needs.
“As an example, the upgrading project for Dewan Suarah Bau involves the provision of modern facilities including escalators and lifts to ease public movement while enhancing operational efficiency at the premises,” he explained.
He further stated that several other projects will continue to be given due attention periodically to ensure that the benefits of development are comprehensively enjoyed by the community.
The visit was also attended by Deputy Minister for Transport (Riverine and Maritime) and Tasik Biru Assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep as well as Serembu Assemblyman Dato Miro Simuh.
Also present were Bau District Officer Eddy Nayoi, GKCDA Deputy Special Administrative Officer John Aten Pawang and a representative from the Resident’s Office of the Division. -UKASnews
