Inclusivity Strengthens Unity & Harmony In Sarawak
KUCHING: The inclusivity approach practiced by the Sarawak Government continues to strengthen the values of unity and harmony among the multiracial society in the state through the recognition and support of major celebrations for the people of Sarawak.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said that this approach enables government aid and contributions to be distributed comprehensively without marginalising any party.
“Usually, we provide these contributions during Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and this year, we have extended them to our community celebrating Chinese New Year and Hari Gawai.
“This is our inclusivity approach, where the government recognises these three major celebrations, particularly for uniformed personnel who are on duty during the festive season,” he said.
He said this while speaking at the symbolic presentation ceremony for the 2026 Gawai Dayak contributions at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here on Thursday.
Meanwhile, he explained that such contributions not only appreciate the sacrifices of frontline workers but also further ignite the atmosphere of harmony and the well-being of the people of Sarawak.
In addition, he expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak Women and Family Department for their commitment to preparing the food packs that will be distributed to uniformed personnel in conjunction with the upcoming Gawai celebration.
Also present were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Ministers of Sarawak, Sarawak Assemblymen, and Department Heads. — UKASnews
