Sarawak Premier Received Courtesy Call From TAM Sarawak Branch
KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg received a courtesy visit from the Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) Sarawak Branch at the Satria Pertiwi Complex on Thursday.
The delegation was led by its Chairman who is also Director of the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak Datu Professor Dr Ir Cassidy Morris.
According to a media statement issued by TAM Sarawak Branch, the visit aimed to formulate high-impact initiatives in collaboration with the Sarawak Government to strengthen the state’s technology ecosystem and develop a highly skilled workforce.
“Discussions focused on the potential for closer collaboration with state talent development agencies, including Sarawak Skills and Talent Development (STACK), to support efforts in producing more technology professionals and enhancing Sarawak’s technical capabilities in line with its innovation-driven economic aspirations,” the statement said.
At the same time, the collaboration is expected to create broader opportunities for industry players, academic institutions and professional communities to work together, share expertise and enrich knowledge in the field of technology.
This integrated approach is seen as a catalyst to further accelerate the development of a more dynamic and globally competitive technology ecosystem.
In line with Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari’s role as advisor to the TAM Sarawak Branch, the association remains optimistic that collaboration with government agencies, industry and education institutions will continue to be strengthened through various technology programmes, professional competitions and knowledge-sharing initiatives that benefit the wider technology community.
The association also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with all stakeholders in advancing technological progress, strengthening professional networks and driving innovation to ensure Sarawak remains a leader in technology development in the region. -UKASnews
