DBKU Makes History At MTE 2026 With International Recognition & Three Innovation Awards
KUALA LUMPUR: Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) has achieved a significant milestone on the international stage after its innovative teams secured multiple accolades at the Malaysia Technology Expo 2026, held from April 9 to 11 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
According to a statement, three of DBKU’s Innovative and Creative Groups (KIK) delivered an outstanding performance, reflecting the organisation’s strong culture of innovation and its ability to develop high-impact solutions for public service delivery.
Among the achievements was a Special International Award from Croatia, presented for the Tree Care Management System (TCMS) developed by the LOGOS Group under the Landscape Development Services Department.
The system addresses longstanding challenges in manual data handling, fragmented records and limited accessibility by centralising and standardising information, streamlining workflows, and enabling more efficient monitoring and analysis.
DBKU also secured two Gold Awards for TCMS and the Inteli-TL (Camera Traffic Light AI) project by the INS AI Group from the Infrastructure Services Department.
Inteli-TL enhances conventional smart traffic light systems by integrating AI-powered camera technology, allowing for more accurate, real-time traffic detection and adaptive signal control.
The innovation is expected to ease congestion, improve traffic flow and support smart, low-carbon urban development initiatives.
Meanwhile, a Bronze Award was awarded to the FileTracker system by the MIND MASTER Group from the Financial Services Department.
The web-based platform improves the efficiency and reliability of property holding file management through systematic digital tracking of file movements.
The achievements underscore DBKU’s commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening service delivery.
The success was further bolstered by the presence of DBKU Mayor Hilmy Othman, DBKU Director Ramzi Abdillah and senior management throughout the programme.
The statement concluded that DBKU reaffirmed its commitment to advancing innovation to ensure more efficient, effective and high-quality services for the community. -UKASnews
