Semop Constituency 2026 Aidilfitri Tour Ends In Kampung Serdeng
SEMOP: The Aidilfitri Community Tour for the Semop Constituency officially drew to a close in Kampung Serdeng on Saturday, marking the end of an eight-day programme that began on 3 April.
Throughout the period, a total of 19 locations were visited in a tour series led by the Deputy Minister in the Premier of Sarawak's Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS) and Semop Assemblyman Datuk Abdullah Saidol alongside Tanjong Manis Member of Parliament, Dato Ir Yusuf Abd Wahab.
Earlier that morning, both elected representatives spent time mingling with residents in Kampung Sedo for the same occasion.
This programme aims not only to celebrate the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities but also serves as an important platform to bring leaders closer to the people through face-to-face interaction, thereby strengthening relationships and increasing between the public and local leadership.
Throughout the tour, various Sarawak Government initiatives were shared with residents in every village, including updates on ongoing and upcoming development projects to ensure the people remain accurately informed and understand the development direction of their respective areas.
According to both elected representatives, every planned project requires a specific implementation period; however, the government's commitment remains clear in ensuring that the benefits are felt by the people as a whole.
The implementation of these projects is in line with the objectives of the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), which focuses on providing basic facilities and infrastructure development in rural areas.
Among the priorities are the improvement of road connectivity, telecommunications, clean water supply, and electricity.
At the same time, each project implemented also emphasises the economic and social impacts that rural communities do not continue to lag behind urban areas.
The education sector is also emphasised, with focus placed on efforts to increase access to higher-quality learning.
This step is vital in producing a knowledgeable and competitive generation, in line with the aspiration to make Sarawak a developed state by the year 2030.-UKASnews
