Revenue Of Nearly RM14.2 Billion Drives Sarawak’s Aggressive Development
MIRI: The surge in Sarawak’s revenue, which has nearly reached RM14.2 billion, serves as a major catalyst for aggressive, high-impact development, further solidifying the state’s path toward high-income region status.
Sarawak Minister of Transport and Senadin Assemblyman Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said this fiscal strength allows the government to execute large-scale projects more systematically. This includes the construction of 18 bridges aimed at strengthening connectivity and boosting the rural economy.
According to him, Sarawak’s development approach is holistic, focusing not only on physical infrastructure but also placing heavy emphasis on human capital development.
Ongoing investment in education and training, including the free education initiative at state-owned institutions, is a long-term strategy to produce a skilled workforce capable of supporting the state’s economic growth.
Speaking at the Masjid Abu Bakar As-Siddiq Aidilfitri gathering at Naim Club House (South Lake), Permyjaya, on Saturday, he stressed that political stability is a prerequisite for continued development.
He urged the people to continue supporting the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government, noting that the unity of Sarawak’s multi-racial society is the foundation that allows the government to focus on development and welfare without disruption.
He also reminded the public to remain vigilant against the spread of unverified information that could potentially threaten the state's harmony and stability.
He added that Sarawak’s unique cultural diversity is not just a reflection of its identity but a strategic strength that enhances its image both nationally and internationally. — UKASnews
