Sarawakku Sayang Programme In Limbang Records Encouraging Turnout, Achieves Objectives
LIMBANG: The Sarawakku Sayang Programmr for the Limbang Division 2026 recorded overwhelming response, successfully achieving its goal of bringing government services closer to the people, particularly those in rural areas.
The three-day programme, which began on Friday, attracted a large crowd with various activities including exhibitions, counter services, and direct interaction sessions between government agencies and the local community.
Federal Deputy Transport Minister and Limbang Member of Parliament Datuk Hasbi Habibollah stated that the on-the-ground approach has a positive impact, as residents can receive direct explanations from officers instead of relying solely on online information.
“Through this initiative, responsible officers are present to provide direct explanations regarding the services displayed. The public can not only connect and gain a clearer understanding, but for services requiring registration, they can also sign up immediately on-site,” he said during the closing ceremony at the Limbang Sports Complex on Sunday.
The programme is a Sarawak Government initiative to ensure that service delivery is inclusive and comprehensive for all citizens.
Exhibitions regarding education opportunities, university admissions, and various development programs allowed for direct engagement, supplementing digital platforms as a primary information source.
Datuk Hasbi noted that choosing Limbang as the starting point for the Sarawakku Sayang tour reflects the state government’s commitment to rural areas, ensuring that those at the edge of the state are not left behind in the current of development.
He expressed his gratitude for the programme's success and hoped that all set objectives were met, specifically in ensuring the Limbang community remains well-informed and connected to state progress. — UKASnews
