Sarawak Government Encourages Experts To Return & Contribute To Their Homeland
SRI AMAN: The Sarawak Government is actively encouraging Sarawakians living abroad to leverage their potential and expertise by returning to their birthplace to act as catalysts for local development.
In a speech read by Sarawak Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg stated that the success of those abroad should be a source of pride and translated into tangible contributions toward developing their homeland.
“The experience, expertise, and professional networks possessed by this group are capable of accelerating the socio-economic transformation of local communities,” he noted.
The Premier’s remarks were delivered during the Simanggang Diaspora Aidilfitri Ramah Tamah ceremony held here on Sunday.
The Premier highlighted that the Sarawak Government remains committed to strengthening the state's development agenda, with a focus on the digital economy, renewable energy, and high-value industries.
Developing human capital remains a top priority through expanded access to education and job opportunities, aiming to produce a highly skilled workforce that meets modern industrial needs.
These initiatives are designed to make Sarawak a developed, inclusive, and competitive region, creating an ideal ecosystem for professionals to return and contribute to the state’s progress.
