PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel led a Sarawak Government delegation in a strategic meeting with the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department (ICU JPM) Deputy Director General Datuk Muhamad Zamani Mohd Ali to discuss efforts to strengthen and accelerate the implementation of Federal development projects in Sarawak.

According to a statement, the meeting held today aimed to strengthen coordination between the Sarawak Government and the Federal Government in ensuring that the implementation of development projects runs smoothly, orderly and provides maximum impact to the people, especially in rural and remote areas of Sarawak.

“During the discussion, various issues related to the status of project progress, implementation challenges and the need to improve monitoring mechanisms were discussed in detail.

“Among the main focuses include speeding up the approval process, improving the efficiency of project delivery, and ensuring that the allocated allocations are fully utilised according to the set schedule,” it said on Friday.

Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah stressed the Sarawak Government's commitment to continue to work closely with Federal agencies in ensuring that each development project can be implemented effectively.

According to him, close cooperation between the state government and the Federal Government is the key to the successful implementation of development projects.

Meanwhile, ICU JPM also expressed its continued commitment to supporting the Sarawak Government's efforts through close monitoring and continuous improvement of the project implementation process.

“This meeting reflects the commitment and synergy between both parties in ensuring that the national development agenda is implemented in an inclusive, sustainable and comprehensive manner to benefit the people of Sarawak,” the statement said.

Also present were Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak Datu Jafri Lias, Director of Land and Survey Sarawak Datu Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, Director of Sarawak Irrigation and Drainage Department Datu Ir Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi, Director of Sarawak Sewerage Services Department Datu Ir Richard Tajan, Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak Deputy Director Ir Wisil Lichok, Director of the Economic Planning Unit Sarawak Datu Ir Awg Mohammad Fadillah Awg Redzuan and Director of the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit Sapiah Daud. -UKASnews
