Gawai Ngabang Strengthens Relationship Between Leaders & Community
BETONG: The ngabang tradition in conjunction with Hari Gawai Dayak continues to play an important role in strengthening relationships, unity, and the spirit of togetherness between leaders and the community in rural areas.
In line with that, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas along with his delegation held Gawai visits to several longhouses in the Ulu Paku area on Tiansday to engage with residents and share the joy of the festive celebration with the local community.
The Bukit Saban Assemblyman visited Nanga Paun, Jukun, Lubok Kelampu, and Danau as part of his annual program to continue closing the gap with the people, besides hearing firsthand the current developments of the community in the involved areas.
Throughout the visits, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah had the opportunity to mingle with the longhouse residents and exchange views regarding various local development issues.
His presence, along with his delegation, was warmly received by the residents who expressed their appreciation for the leader's willingness to spend time celebrating the Hari Gawai occasion together.
The program also reflects the spirit of unity and harmony that forms the core of the Hari Gawai Dayak celebration in Sarawak.
Also accompanying him were his wife Datin Doreen Mayang, PBB Women's Wing Chief of Bukit Saban Branch Natasha Nasa Uggah, and Bukit Saban Deputy Branch Chief Abang Madehi Abang Abdul Latip. — UKASnews
