Deputy Sarawak Secretary Inspects Development Projects In Bekenu
MIRI: The Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, conducted site visits to several proposed development projects in the Bekenu area to oversee the planning status and implementation of local infrastructure.
Among the projects visited were the proposed new construction of the Rumah Patrick Libau / Rumah Agnes John Abau road at Sungai Tangap and Rumah Bulin, Sungai Saeh, Niah, the widening of the road from Kampung Kelulit to Kuala Sibuti, and the proposed construction of an access road from Batu Niah Town to the Pan Borneo Highway junction.
The visit aimed to ensure that every project is implemented comprehensively, taking into account the current needs of rural residents and improving accessibility in the affected areas.
During the visit, the implementing agencies also presented the latest project updates, challenges on the ground, and proposed solutions to expedite their execution.
The working visit concluded with a discussion session focused on inter-agency coordination and follow-up measures to ensure the smooth implementation of the projects according to the fixed schedule.
Also present were Wan Jamaludin from the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU), representatives from the Sarawak Economic Planning Unit (EPU), the Public Works Department (JKR) Miri, the Resident’s Office, the Land and Survey Department, and the Private Secretary to Datuk Rosey Yunus. -UKASnews
