Education: The Pillar To Producing A Competitive Generation
MIRI: Education must continue to be empowered as the core foundation in nurturing a knowledgeable, skilled, and competitive generation to ensure the sustainable development of the state in the future.
Sarawak Minister for Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said education is not merely a medium for knowledge transfer, but also serves as an important pillar in shaping quality human capital capable of meeting the demands of an increasingly challenging world.
He said this while speaking at the 80th Anniversary Celebration Dinner of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Chung Hua Pujut at the Imperial Hotel Miri on Saturday.
According to the Senadin Assemblyman, the eight-decade journey of the school reflects the high spirit and sacrifices of past generations in championing education for the future of their children.
He added that the growth of the school also symbolises community unity in Miri, as it accommodates students from various racial backgrounds, thereby reflecting the harmony and inclusivity of the education system in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, he noted that the Sarawak Government under the leadership of the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg remains committed to strengthening human capital development through various strategic initiatives.
Among the efforts being implemented include the Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES), the empowerment of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), digital technology, and artificial intelligence (AI).
In line with this, he hoped that Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Chung Hua Pujut would continue to strengthen academic education, technology, and character development in an effort to produce more excellent students in the future. -UKASnews
