STPM Performance In Sarawak Improves, State CGPA Rises To 2.75
KUCHING: The overall performance of Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2025 candidates in Sarawak showed improvement, with the state's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) rising to 2.75 compared to 2.68 the previous year.
Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, said the increase of 0.07 points reflects better academic achievement among STPM candidates in the state.
According to him, out of 5,440 candidates registered for STPM 2025, 5,259 candidates, or 96.67 per cent, sat for the examination.
"Excellent achievement can also be seen with 115 candidates, or 2.19 per cent, successfully obtaining a perfect CGPA of 4.00, an increase compared to 92 candidates, or 1.61 per cent, in STPM 2024," he said at a press conference announcing the STPM 2025 results here on Friday.
In addition, 309 candidates obtained a CGPA of 3.75 and above, while 1,626 candidates achieved a CGPA of 3.00 and above.
Dato Sri Roland said the achievement of candidates who took five subjects was also highly commendable, with two candidates successfully scoring 5A's in all subjects taken.
Meanwhile, the number of candidates obtaining 4A's also rose to 110 people compared to 91 people the previous year.
He said the improvement proves the continued commitment of educators, parents, and students in raising academic excellence in Sarawak. -UKASnews
