Sarawak Premier's Stopover In Sarikei Streamlined Ahead Of Convoy To Sibu
SARIKEI: Preparations for Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg's stopover at the Al-Muttaqin Mosque, Sarikei in conjunction with the Motorcycle Convoy Programme from Batang Lupar 1 Bridge to Sibu have been streamlined to ensure the programme runs smoothly on Thursday.
Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the inspection held on Wednesday aimed to examine the level of readiness of the location including logistics, facilities and programme coordination.
According to him, the Sarawak Premier is scheduled to stopover to perform prayers at the Al-Muttaqin Mosque before holding a friendly session with community leaders and the local residents.
He said that the stopover was an opportunity for the residents of Sarikei to meet and interact more closely with Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari after he attended the Batang Lupar 1 Bridge Opening Ceremony.
Meanwhile, Datuk Len also instructed that any damage or lack of facilities at the Al-Muttaqin Mosque be paid attention to and resolved immediately in preparation for the Sarawakku Sayang Programme and the Sarawak-Level Maulidur Rasul Celebration scheduled to take place next August.
He also invited the local community to come and enjoy a friendly session with the Sarawak Premier in conjunction with the stopover.
