Sarawak Integrity Day 2026 To Gather 12,000 Participants Physically & Virtually
KUCHING: The Sarawak Integrity Day (HIS) 2026 Celebration, which will take place this August 12 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), is set to gather a total of 12,000 participants physically and virtually.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya explained that the event will serve as a primary platform for the Sarawak Government to strengthen a culture of integrity, good governance, and anti-corruption efforts among civil servants and the public.
“We are expecting the physical presence of around 2,000 participants, while another 10,000 will join the programme virtually. On that day, all government offices will listen to the addresses delivered by the Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, as well as the Sarawak Premier,” he said.
He said this during a press conference in conjunction with the Sarawak State Integrity, Governance and Anti-Corruption Strengthening Conference (PINTAR) 2026 here on Friday. The conference is bring organised in conjunction with the Sarawak Integrity Day 2026 Celebration.
“Among the invited speakers is United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) representative Annika Whitesters, who is specially brought from the United Nations (UN).
“In addition, participants will also have the opportunity to attend a special presentation by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who recently retired as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, as well as Dato’ Azmi Kamaruzaman, Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC),” he said.
He further added that through the conference, participants will have the opportunity to understand current challenges while enhancing capabilities in addressing issues of abuse of power, corruption, and governance weaknesses. — UKASnews
