MUKAH: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg on Friday launched MISPRO, a digital mosque management application developed to strengthen the governance and delivery of mosque services throughout Sarawak.

The launch of the application was held in conjunction with the Opening Ceremony of the Ziarah Mahabbah of the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) 1448H/2026M Central Zone (Mukah-Kapit) Programme which took place at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja, here.

MISPRO was developed in collaboration with HPCS Sdn. Bhd. and Affin Islamic Bank Berhad to empower mosque management through the digitisation of the administrative system as well as the service delivery to the community.

The Ziarah Mahabbah programme running for two days from July 31 to August 1 was themed ‘Ummah Maju Makmur’ and was held inclusively with the participation of people of various walks of life.

According to MIS, the programme aims to convey the direction of ummah development in line with government policy, strengthen the coordination of programmes and services of Islamic agencies throughout the state, in addition to identifying issues, challenges and community needs to enable more effective and timely follow-up actions.

During the course of the programme, various activities were provided including Pesan Mufti, Family Forum, Innovation Exploration (STEM), Islamic Agency Services Exhibition and Mini Education Fair.

The programme was also enlivened with the Women's Aura Programme and a demonstration of traditional Melanau cuisine by Chef Muluk, in addition to several follow-up programmes that will continue around Mukah and Kapit throughout August to September.

MIS shared that the Ziarah Mahabbah Programme will continue to the Central Zone covering Sibu, Sarikei and Betong before being expanded to the Northern Zone as an effort to strengthen the delivery of Islamic agency services as well as drive the development of the ummah towards realising the aspirations of ‘Ummah Maju Makmur’.

The initiative is also expected to strengthen the relationship between Islamic agencies and the community as well as make it easier for Muslims throughout Sarawak to access the various services provided. -UKASnews
