MINTRED Leads Five Sarawak Entrepreneurs To Melaka International Halal Festival 2026
MELAKA: The Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED) has led five Sarawakian companies and entrepreneurs to participate in the Melaka International Halal Festival (MIHF) 2026, held at the Melaka International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITC) from August 7 to 9.
The participation forms part of MINTRED's ongoing efforts to expand market access and showcase local Sarawak products with strong potential to penetrate both domestic and international halal markets.
The five selected Sarawak enterprises participating in MIHF 2026 are Myginho Marketing Sdn. Bhd., Syarikat Watiahli, A.A. Aryan Enterprise, PPES Ternak Sdn. Bhd. and AJ Truly Spices.
According to the ministry in a statement yesterday, MIHF 2026 serves as a strategic platform to strengthen the halal industry ecosystem, targeting the participation of 530 entrepreneurs with a projected sales value of RM20 million.
Participation in the festival offers local entrepreneurs direct exposure to industry players, buyers, and prospective business partners while exploring business matching opportunities, market networking, and distribution channels.
Among the featured entrepreneurs is Hajah Azilawati Abdullah of AJ Truly Spices, who produces Sarawak pepper-based products. Her halal-certified downstream pepper offerings have already successfully penetrated overseas markets.
MINTRED views the halal sector as a high-potential growth segment for Sarawak's micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in food products, spices, agriculture-based goods, and value-added local products carrying Sarawak's unique identity.
The initiative aligns with the Sarawak Government's broader aspiration to bolster the entrepreneurial ecosystem, boost MSME competitiveness, and unlock expanded market opportunities for homegrown brands.
MINTRED reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with relevant agencies and strategic partners to provide promotional platforms and market access, enabling Sarawak entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and tap into wider halal markets. - UKASnews
