Sarawak Governor Receives National Day Celebration Invitation Letter
KUCHING: The 2026 Sarawak National Day Celebration Main Committee led by the Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom paid a courtesy visit to Astana Negeri Sarawak on Monday, to present a letter of invitation to the Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
The letter served to invite Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi to grace the 2026 Sarawak National Day Celebration which is scheduled to take place on 30 and 31 August in the Kapit Division.
In the meeting, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi as the Minister-In-Charge shared the activities and programme of the planned celebration.
According to him, the celebration will begin with National Day Eve on 30 August, before continuing with the Unity Walk and the National Day Assembly on 31 August.
He also added that the presence of Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah in Kapit will further enliven the celebration and give special meaning to the local community.
Also participating in the courtesy visit were Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Liwan Lagang, Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Rosey Yunus, Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Majang Renggi, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Native Law and Custom) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail and Kapit Division Resident Elvis Didit. -UKASnews
