Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Mosque Becomes Symbol Of Unity, Catalyst For Community Development
TELOK MELANO: The opening of the Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Mosque in Telok Melano, named after His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang, marks a meaningful moment that not only strengthens the propagation of Islam but is also expected to serve as a catalyst for the development of the local community.
His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, graciously officiated the opening of the mosque on Friday.
In his royal address, the Sultan of Pahang expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him by the people of Sarawak, while describing the construction of the mosque as a noble effort born out of close cooperation between the Sarawak Government and the local community in providing comfortable and conducive place-of-worship facilities.
"I hope this mosque will become a catalyst for development in this area, as well as a centre for uniting the ummah and strengthening noble values among the community," His Majesty said.
His Majesty also expressed confidence that the mosque would serve as a catalyst for the development of Telok Melano, in line with the various development plans currently being implemented in the area.
"We should be grateful and proud to have capable and dynamic leadership that continues to ensure the wellbeing of the people is safeguarded," His Majesty said.
Meanwhile, the Sultan of Pahang also recalled his previous visits to Sarawak, which left a deep and lasting impression on him.
"My previous visits to Sarawak left a very deep sense of nostalgia and unforgettable memories," His Majesty said.
His Majesty also called on the community to continue being grateful, to strengthen unity and to work together in enriching the mosque as an institution and centre for spiritual and social development.
Also present were the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato Sri Nancy Shukri, Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; guests of honour, local leaders and members of the local community. -UKASnews
