KUCHING: The spirit of togetherness must remain the foundation in building a more mature and equitable Malaysia, one that values ​​the strengths and uniqueness of every region and its people.

Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki stated that the 63-year journey since the formation of Malaysia has been filled with diverse experiences, joys, sorrows, and challenges that have tested the resilience and unity of the people.

According to him, every phase of national integration has taught us that Malaysia’s true strength lies not merely in its achievements, but in the people's ability to understand, respect, and trust one another.

“There is still much work to be done. As we move forward, the spirit of togetherness must remain the foundation for creating a more mature and equitable Malaysia that appreciates the strengths of every region and its people,” he said in his Malaysia Day 2026 message.

Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar noted that the Sarawak Civil Service must translate this spirit into a steadfast commitment to service delivery, ensuring that the impact of development is truly felt by the people.

He added that Sarawak would continue to play its part in shaping the nation's future by leveraging its unique strengths and aspirations to build a Malaysia that is more advanced, prosperous and resilient. -UKASnews
