Mid-Autumn Festival Brings Together Traders, Batu 3 Community
KUCHING: Ties between traders and the local community were further strengthened through the Santuni Peniaga dan Masyarakat Pasar Batu 3 Programme, held in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on Saturday.
Batu Kitang Assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang said the programme provided him with an opportunity to meet and interact directly with traders and the community at Maong Market and the Batu 3 shop area.
Through the programme, he also distributed mooncakes to traders and members of the public as a token of appreciation in conjunction with the festive celebration, which also promotes the values of family ties, togetherness and harmony within the community.
He also spent time engaging warmly with traders and market visitors, besides listening to their views and observing the local community's situation first-hand.
The programme was attended by about 40 people and served as a platform to strengthen ties between the elected representative and the community through direct interaction.
