PACAs Must Master Election Procedures & Anticipate Contingencies
SPAOH: Mastering election procedures and anticipating any possibilities are among the top priorities for Polling and Counting Agents (PACAs) to ensure the voting and vote-counting processes for the 13th Sarawak State Election (PRN) proceed smoothly and in accordance with established regulations.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said PACAs must fully understand their respective roles and responsibilities especially when monitoring the voting and vote-counting processes at each polling station.
According to him, well-trained and prepared PACAs are capable of performing their duties more effectively while ensuring the interests of all parties are safeguarded throughout the election process.
He said this while officiating the PACA Role and Preparation Briefing Programme Closing Ceremony at the Spaoh Community Hall on Sunday.
Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah also emphasised that the vote-counting process requires special attention from PACAs to ensure every procedure is executed correctly and complies with established regulations.
The Bukit Saban Assemblyman added that they must also be prepared for any possibility, including situations requiring a vote recount.
In this regard, he expressed hope that all PACAs would carry out their entrusted duties with transparency and discipline as well as consistently adhering to election regulations.
Also present were Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sarawak Executive Secretary Datu Takun Sunggah, PBB Sarawak Women's Wing Secretary Susan Chemerai Anding and Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier Roseline Mapong. -UKASnews
