312 NCR Land Titles Issued In Bukit Semuja Constituency
KUCHING: The Dayak Bidayuh National Association’s (DBNA) efforts in helping to expedite the Native Customary Rights (NCR) land surveying process have yielded results, with a total of 312 land titles involving two areas in Bukit Semuja issued as of September 30, 2026.
Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Len Talif Salleh stated that both areas documented by DBNA cover an area of 528 hectares or 1,305 acres under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code.
According to him, overall, 1,255 land titles involving three areas spanning 741 hectares or 1,831 acres have been issued under the New Initiative NCR Land Survey Programme in the Bukit Semuja constituency.
In addition, 451 land titles were also issued for three villages covering 21 hectares or 52 acres through the Traditional Village Survey Programme.
“The Sarawak Government appreciates the commitment and initiative of DBNA in helping to accelerate the survey of Section 6 and Section 18 NCR land under the Sarawak Land Code,” he said.
He said this in response to a question from Bukit Semuja Assemblyman John Ilus, during the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting on Wednesday.
However, the documented results must undergo verification and validation processes by the Sarawak Land and Survey Department before gazettement and the issuance of titles can be finalised.
Meanwhile, for the Tebedu constituency, 13 out of 16 areas approved for individual lot surveys have been documented by DBNA, encompassing an area of approximately 32,733 hectares or 80,884 acres.
Out of that total, 5,603 hectares or 13,845 acres have been successfully surveyed involving 5,775 lots, while 4,136 land titles under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code have been registered for staged distribution. — UKASnews
