Dato' Sri Azalina Othman Inspects Construction Of AIAC Sarawak Branch Office
KUCHING: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Dato' Sri Azalina Othman Said made a site visit to the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) Sarawak branch office at the Sarawak Textile Museum to view the progress of the premises' preparation here on Monday.
The visit also allowed the delegation to examine the condition of the building and proposed improvements to ensure its suitability for AIAC Sarawak's operational needs.
AIAC is an institution that provides alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, including arbitration and mediation, enabling parties to resolve disputes through means other than regular court proceedings.
The branch's operations in Sarawak are expected to widen access to these services, particularly in commercial matters, construction contracts and investment, thereby supporting the needs of the state's business sector.
Also present were AIAC Court of Arbitration President Dato' Mary Lim Thiam Suan, AIAC Chief Executive Officer Datuk Danesh Chandran, and representatives of the Sarawak Attorney-General's Chambers (SAG), the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak and the Sarawak Museum Department. -UKASnews
