Civil Servants Hard Work Behind Sarawak’s Progress
KUCHING: Behind every bridge constructed, every road connecting rural areas and every basic amenity enjoyed by the people, lies the contribution and effort of civil servants who work regardless of time or location.
Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said that the contributions of the entire civil service should not be underestimated, as every developmental success in the state is the result of the collective effort of various parties.
According to him, this was also highlighted by the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg during his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Wednesday, in which he acknowledged the role of civil servants in the state’s progress.
“Their contributions are present in every bridge. Whether it is a large or a long bridge, whatever has been built, our contributions are present. It is not the work of just one person, as everyone played their role,” he said.
He said this while speaking at a dinner held in conjunction with an engagement session between the Sarawak Public Service Commission (PSC), the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) and Sarawak local authorities here on Thursday.
Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu added that the dedication of civil servants, whether stationed in urban centres or rural areas, serves as a key driving force in ensuring that basic amenities, such as clean water and electricity are delivered to the people.
He emphasised that the continued commitment and cooperation of the entire civil service are vital to ensuring that every policy and development initiative is translated into tangible benefits for the community.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of maintaining a spirit of togetherness and service excellence in realising the aspirations of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, with the goal of transforming Sarawak into a developed state by 2030. -UKASnews
