BREAKING | Sarawak State Assembly Dissolved On 26 October 2026, Paving The Way For 13th State Election
KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg on Friday announced the dissolution of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN), effective 26 October 2026, paving the way for the 13th Sarawak State Election (PRN-13).
The dissolution was granted the consent of the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
The Election Commission (EC) will announce the key dates for PRN-13 at a later date.
The current Sarawak Legislative Assembly, which has 82 seats, will see its mandate end in February 2027.
In the 12th Sarawak State Election, held on 18 December 2021, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), led by Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari, won 76 of the 82 seats contested.
