Sarawak Regional Governance Leadership Programme 2026 Deserves To Be Model For Other Regions
KUCHING: The Sarawak Regional Governance Leadership Programme 2026 deserves to serve as a model for other regions around the world in efforts to strengthen integrity and good governance.
International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) Dean and Executive Secretary Drago Kos said the programme reflected Sarawak’s commitment to continuously improving good governance practices through the sharing of experiences and collaboration among relevant stakeholders.
“I believe this initiative deserves to be emulated by many other regions, not only in Malaysia, but also across Asia and the rest of the world.
“At present, we are in a rather worrying situation, as countries around the world are no longer showing the same level of interest as they once did in strengthening integrity.
“Therefore, initiatives such as this should serve as a model for others around the world. I sincerely hope that similar programmes can be extended to more places globally, as Sarawak has now set a good example for others to follow,” he said.
He said this when met after participating as a speaker at the Sarawak Regional Governance Leadership Programme (SRGLP) 2026 at a hotel here on Monday.
Meanwhile, Drago also emphasised the importance of making good governance an integral part of the daily practices of every institution and organisation, with every decision made effectively, efficiently and with integrity.
He said countries that practised good governance were able to achieve development more rapidly and at lower costs, while also building public trust in their governments.
He added that IACA welcomed Sarawak’s commitment to maintaining its focus on integrity, good governance and efforts to combat corruption. -UKASnews
