The Sarawak Legislative Assembly To Sit From 24 November To 3 December, Five Bills To Be Tabled
KUCHING: The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly will take place over eight days, from 24 November to 3 December 2025, at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex.
Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, said that five Government Bills are scheduled for tabling.
“The Bills to be introduced are the Supply (2026) Bill, 2025, Supplementary Supply (2025) Bill, 2025, Constitution of the State of Sarawak (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Buildings (Amendment) Bill, 2025, dan Sustainable Resources and Wastes Management Bill, 2025,” he said.
He explained this during a press conference held after the Pre-Council Meeting for the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly session, which was chaired by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Headquarters in Jalan Bako on Saturday.
According to him, the Supply (2026) Bill, 2025 will be presented by the Premier, with the first and second readings scheduled for 24 November before the third reading on 3 December.
The Supplementary Supply (2025) Bill will be tabled by the Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, with its first reading on 24 November, followed by the second and third readings on 27 November.
The Constitution of the State of Sarawak (Amendment) Bill will be tabled by the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, with all three readings set for 24 November.
This coincides with the Buildings (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which will be presented by the Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
The Sustainable Resources and Wastes Management Bill, 2025 will be tabled by Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, with the first reading on 24 November and the second and third readings on 25 November.
In addition, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia said that a total of 341 questions—both oral and written—have been submitted by 40 assembly members.
“Of this number, 257 are for oral replies, while 84 are for written responses.
“The Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government received the highest number of questions, totalling 58,” he noted.
Present at the meeting were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, members of the State Cabinet, the Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Ministers, State Assembly members, and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
