Development Boost For Kampung Skibang Through New Government Allocation
BAU: Community development in Kampung Skibang received a significant boost with the approval of RM170,000 in government allocations during the Tautan Kasih Dinner at Dewan Baruoh Bowang on Saturday.
The allocation was announced by Sarawak Deputy Minister for Transport (Riverine and Maritime) and Tasik Biru Assemblyman, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, who joined more than 600 villagers at the community event organised by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Skibang.
He said the funding reflects the government’s commitment to improving rural facilities and strengthening community wellbeing.
Datuk Henry confirmed that RM100,000 under the 2025 Rural Transformation Project (RTP) has been approved to upgrade the village football field, a key recreational facility for local youths.
For RTP 2026, funds will be channelled to upgrade the hall of Sekolah Kebangsaan Skibang, enhancing safety and comfort for students and school activities.
An additional allocation under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) 2026 was also approved for the JKKK Kampung Skibang to support its operations and community initiatives.
Also present was Bau District Officer Eddy Nayoi, Penghulu Sumy Lidei, and Ketua Kaum Cliff Wandy Tagal. -UKASnews
