Asajaya Community Organisations Receive RM2.8 Million To Boost Local Development
ASAJAYA: Grassroots institutions across Asajaya are set to strengthen their community initiatives as a total of 159 recipients received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants amounting to RM2.8 million on Thursday.
The allocations were presented by Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts cum Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is also the Assemblyman for Asajaya, during a ceremony held at the Asajaya Sports Complex.
In his remarks, Dato Sri Abdul Karim said the grants reflect the State Government’s commitment to empowering local organisations to deliver more impactful programmes for their communities.
“This allocation is not merely financial assistance, but a form of government support to ensure committees, mosques, houses of worship, schools, clubs and associations remain active in organising initiatives that benefit the people,” he said.
He also reminded recipients to manage the funds responsibly and transparently.
“Every activity must be properly recorded and reported either to the Asajaya District Office or the N.15 Asajaya Service Centre,” he added.
The 159 approved recipients comprise 39 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), 33 mosques and suraus, nine churches and temples, 39 parent-teacher associations (PIBG), tabika and taska, as well as 39 clubs and associations across the Asajaya District.
The ceremony was also attended by Asajaya District Officer Jerry Zannuddin Bidin, Asajaya Police Station Chief Sjn. Mohd Ibrahim Abdullah, Temenggong Chek Bujang and Pemanca Jong Tze Ted. -UKASnews
