Ziarah Prihatin Strengthens Community Care Efforts In Pantai Damai
KUCHING: The Skuad Prihatin Pantai Damai continued its outreach efforts in Kampung Sourabaya Hilir on Saturday, extending direct assistance to families in need under the ongoing Program Ziarah Prihatin Pantai Damai.
The session was led by Deputy Minister in the Premier's Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs) and Pantai Damai Assemblyman, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, together with his wife, whose presence added encouragement as they visited recipients’ homes to better understand their situations and needs.
Organised by Skuad Prihatin Pantai Damai, the programme focused on supporting nine individuals comprising low-income families, senior citizens, single mothers and residents facing mobility or health challenges.
Assistance distributed included essential food items, mobility aids such as wheelchairs, and other personalised support based on each recipient’s circumstances.
Chairperson of Skuad Prihatin Pantai Damai, Rosmah Zaini, said the house-to-house approach remains central to ensuring that the team can identify real, on-ground issues while delivering immediate relief to those who may have difficulty seeking help on their own.
The initiative continues to grow as a community-driven platform in Pantai Damai, creating stronger connections between local leaders and residents while reinforcing the constituency’s commitment to social wellbeing.
The Ziarah Prihatin programme will be carried out regularly to ensure more vulnerable households receive sustained support and attention. -UKASnews
