Sungai Krian Bridge Project To Be Completed In March 2026
SARATOK: The Sungai Krian Bridge project which forms part of the Sarawak Coastal Road development is expected to be fully completed and opened to the public by March.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the project, with a cost of approximately RM112.5 million, will be the ninth bridge targeted for completion this year.
“The construction of the bridge reflects the Sarawak Government’s continued commitment to strengthening rural connectivity, particularly in coastal areas.
“The 1.2-kilometre-long Sungai Krian Bridge, including its road alignment, serves as a key link between the Pusa and Kabong districts, facilitating daily movement for residents while stimulating local economic activity,” he said.
He said this when officiating at the Sungai Krian Bridge Stitching Ceremony, here on Tuesday.
Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah added that improved infrastructure facilities not only enhance accessibility but also open up greater socio-economic development opportunities for rural communities.
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Ir. Aidel Lariwoo, Beting Maro Assemblyman Dato Razaili Gapor, Kalaka Assemblyman Mohamad Duri, Krian Assemblyman Friday Belik, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak Datu Chiew Chee Yau, Sarawak Public Works Department Director Datu Dr Cassidy Morris, as well as community leaders from the Pusa, Kabong and Saratok districts. -UKASnews
